Southern Regional College are the first college to deliver the OCN NI Level 3 Barista qualification to employees from a range of local companies. Successful candidates will have the highest Barista qualification in Northern Ireland.

Karla Fitzpatrick from Rice’s Hotel Poyntzpass works front of house and has “always enjoyed both serving and drinking coffee. I wanted to learn how to perfect serving a cup of coffee.  I now have a better understanding of the myriad of processes required to go from coffee bean to coffee cup. Scott King was so passionate about coffee and was a great lecturer for this. His passion really shone through and made us all enthusiastic to perfect our serves, it’s great these sessions run at times I can work around”.

SRC are now recruiting for Barista courses due to start in January 2022, most of which are funded under the Skills Focus Programme by the Department for the Economy.
