Businesses now have more time to get their entries in for the Irish News Workplace & Employment Awards as the deadline to submit entries has been extended to Thursday April 18 at noon.
The initiative honours and rewards the Best Places to Work across Ireland. This year marks the 16th awards ceremony, which has evolved into one of the country’s most prestigious business initiatives, regularly attracting hundreds of entries.
This year sees the introduction of two new categories – Best Digital Transformation Award and Best Employee Benefits Programme – further enhancing the scope of recognition for innovative practices in the workplace.
“It’s people who drive and add value to any organisation, and our 2024 awards will be another celebration of the exceptional standards they demonstrate in different aspects of economy,” according to Irish News editor Chris Sherrard.
“Everyone who puts themselves forwards for our awards is recognising the importance of working closely with their staff at all levels, regardless of the size of the organisation, and how vital it is to have proper strategies in place for developing the huge talents which are out there in the field of employment.”
Irish News business editor Gary McDonald added: “The best employee benefits programme category recognises organisations which excel in providing exceptional and comprehensive benefits packages to their employees. It highlights a company’s commitment to supporting the wellbeing, financial security, and overall satisfaction of its workforce.
“And best digital transformation honours organisations that demonstrate exceptional innovation and success in leveraging digital technologies to revolutionise their operations and achieve significant business growth.”
There are 12 key categories this year, each of which be split into SME and Large.

The Workplace and Employment Awards, which regularly attracts hundreds of entries, will culminate in a glittering presentation in Titanic Belfast on June 6th, hosted by comic Neil Delamere, who is best known for his hilariously quick-witted appearances on myriad panel shows, including his long-running tenure on the Blame game and his live tours.
