Finding and retaining the right people with the right skills is a persistent challenge for employers in Northern Ireland. In the first part a new sub-series on ‘Building Inclusive Workplaces’, NI Chamber and NIE Networks will provide members with the opportunity to engage with experts on barriers to entering employment.
To set the context, Dr Eoin Magennis, Senior Economist at Ulster University’s Economic Policy Centre, will provide insights from his latest research on the long-standing challenge of economic inactivity, highlighting the key issues that are prohibiting many from entering the workplace.
Heather McKee, Director of Strategic Planning, Quality and Support at South Eastern Regional College (SERC), will share the innovative, collaborative and practical solutions offered by SERC to support employers to re-engage the long-term unemployed.
