Cormac will be in conversation with our MC, leading BBC News Reporter Mark Simpson, discussing areas such as his own business journey, personal and corporate leadership, disruption in the marketplace and how to overcome it, as well as innovation and business development – followed by a Q&A from the audience.
The GSB Leadership Series focuses on the importance of inspirational leadership, recognising that strong and effective leaders boost productivity, performance and ultimately organisational success.
Cormac Whelan, CEO, Nokia UK & Ireland
Cormac joined Nokia nearly 8 years ago as Vice President Global Accounts and has led it through some significant changes.
In his current role as CEO, he leads all operations for the UK and Ireland markets including sales, business management, delivery and operations. Cormac has proven expertise in strategic planning, driving transformation and change management in large scale businesses.
He has previously worked for BT, UUNET and Motorola Codex.
Mark Simpson, Reporter, BBC News
Mark Simpson is an award-winning BBC TV reporter. After spending his early career in newspapers, at the Irish News and the Belfast Telegraph, he moved to the BBC in Belfast 20 years ago.
He has previously been a BBC political correspondent, BBC Ireland Correspondent and North of England Correspondent. He is currently a BBC radio presenter, and a TV reporter for the flagship evening news programme, BBC Newsline.
