The Business Support & Innovation Team recently attended the Upskilling for Growth Event as part of NMD Enterprise Week 22 at the Canal Court Hotel & Spa in Newry.
This event outlined the opportunities for businesses to avail of from academic institutions to help grow and develop their own talent and access funding. These included the Help to Grow Programme, Skills focus, Skill up and the NMDDC Labour Market Partnership (LMP) – Upskilling for Growth Programme.
The focus of the LMP programme is to address the skill gaps and associated vacancies of local employers, by supporting employers to upskill staff with a skill/qualification required to fill a skill gap and associated vacancy within the organisation. The output of the programme is to enable career progression for those upskilled while opening entry-level vacancy opportunities for those entering the labour market.
If you would like to find out how we can help you to up-skill your team using our fully funded training programmes, please email: betterbusiness@src.ac.uk
