Data Duo Mentoring at Queen’s Business School brings together business professionals and MSc Business Analytics students to develop mutually beneficial partnerships, shaping leaders in business analytics.

Develop an understanding of business data

The increase in the volume, variety, and velocity of data creates opportunities for businesses to improve decision making and develop new data driven products and services. However, industry reports show a global shortage of data science expertise and understanding of how to utilise data to business advantage.

MSc Business Analytics students are learning to use cutting edge and industry standard tools and techniques, developing expertise in end-to-end business analytics solutions and using data for decision-making purposes.

We are offering individual business professionals the opportunity to utilise our students’ skillsets to better understand how to leverage business data.

Utilise a student mentor at no cost to your business.

Pass on your valuable expertise

Our students are tech-savvy, but still in the early stages of developing their business experience.

Your invaluable input through mentoring will empower a student to identify career goals and objectives, build their understanding of industry, and increase their confidence.

Developing a meaningful mentoring connection with a student can lead to personal and business growth, and potential recruitment opportunities for your business in the future.

Use your experience, skills, and knowledge to support the development of a Business Analytics student.

Expectations

Each mentoring relationship will be two-way, so that both partners benefit. A mentoring cycle will last 12 weeks.

To ensure that this is an efficient programme that fosters a culture of learning and development for all partners, we set three clear expectations:

Partners meet five times throughout the programme, for a minimum of 30 minutes per session. This can be virtually or in-person.

Partners adhere to expected roles and responsibilities, as outlined in the Data Duo Mentoring handbook.

Partners utilise provided documents to clearly outline goals and objectives, the implementation of actions points, and progress reviews.

Get involved

Data Duo Mentoring is for professionals across all industries, from businesses of any size. Each professional is matched with a Business Analytics student by our team.

The next cohort of the programme will begin at the end of April, exact dates to be confirmed.
