Ulster Rugby can today confirm an exclusive partnership with PROTEC Recovery, the leading provider of advanced recovery and wellness technology in Ireland.

This partnership deepens the existing relationship with the company, who now become the Official Recovery Technology Partner for the club for the remainder of the 2022/23 season and beyond.

PROTEC Recovery’s eco-system of cutting-edge recovery devices and technologies will provide Ulster Rugby players and staff with unparalleled access to compression recovery boots, percussion guns, and vibration products. These devices have been designed for the modern athlete to help relieve tension, release sore muscles, and promote physical and mental wellbeing, allowing the players to meet the demands of the sport at their highest level.

Stephanie Gleadhill, Lead Performance Nutritionist for Ulster Rugby, said: “At Ulster Rugby, player performance and recovery are of the utmost importance, and our partnership with PROTEC Recovery allows us to take these efforts to new heights. The range of devices available to us through this partnership will give us the tools we need to optimise player performance and help them to recover quickly and effectively.”

Chris McNicholl, Lead Physiotherapist, added: “We are excited to be partnering with PROTEC. Their innovative devices will allow us to provide rapid and effective recovery solutions, helping our players to stay healthy, perform at their best, and meet the demands of the sport with confidence.

“Many of our players use PROBOOTS extensively as part of their recovery strategy, with enhanced recovery methods now increasingly important given the club’s regular travel for away fixtures in the UK and Ireland, as well as in Europe and South Africa.”

The partnership with Ulster Rugby marks a new era for PROTEC, as the company becomes the first exclusive Recovery Technology provider for a provincial rugby team in Ireland. The company was founded in 2020 by Barry Grant and Laurence O’Kane, and has established itself as a leading provider of recovery technology in Ireland and beyond.

Less than a year after launch, the company has supplied some of the most elite athletes and teams in Europe, including Champions League winners, British and Irish Lions, and top-performing British tennis players.

Barry Grant, Founder and Managing Director of PROTEC Recovery, said: “Partnering with Ulster Rugby is a huge step forward for our company and reiterates the importance of recovery for elite teams in today’s game. We are proud that our premium recovery technology is now freely accessible to players and staff at Ulster Rugby. We are committed to becoming a global leader in recovery technology.”

PROTEC Recovery is making the latest in recovery and wellness technology accessible to the modern athlete with a suite of devices. With PROBOOTS, their latest innovation, the company has once again raised the bar for the recovery technology industry. PROBOOTS is a dynamic air compression system that imitates the body’s natural circulatory system to transport oxygenated blood from the heart to the limbs and extremities, and helps to clear stagnant metabolic waste.
