County Antrim headquartered Brett Martin was recognised for its outstanding efforts in sustainability as it scooped up the winning award for sustainability at the annual Business Eye Awards which took place in Belfast last weekend.
Brett Martin came out on top in the Green/ Sustainable Company of the Year category which recognises an organisation which has made significant and demonstrable progress towards becoming more sustainable and contributing to the wider environmental goal. The gala awards night was held at the ICC Belfast on Thursday 30th November 2023 where Brett Martin were joined by a host of winning businesses across a range of industries in Northern Ireland.

As a world-leading plastics manufacturer, Brett Martin has completed a range of Premier League club projects, providing roofing to a number of the top stadia in sports including Manchester United’s Old Trafford, Manchester City’s Etihad and most recently Everton’s new stadium on Merseyside.
In the last 12 months, Brett Martin has taken a leading position in the industry with the launch of its first bio-based range. Launched at the K Exhibition, the world’s number one trade fair for plastics and rubber, BioPlus is a sustainable Polycarbonate glazing product, which replaces over 80% of the fossil-based oil material with bio-circular materials, mostly sourced from the food industry – specifically used cooking oils. The raw material production process significantly reduces carbon emissions, leading to an 84% decrease in overall carbon emissions. The product is extruded with 100% renewable energy in a mass balanced process, certified by ISCC Plus, a certification gained by Brett Martin last year.
