Mayor’s Black Tie Charity Ball raises over £5,000 for charity

Mayor of Antrim & Newtownabbey, Councillor Mark Cooper BEM, hosted an evening of dinner and dancing in aid of the RVH Liver Support Group, raising a superb £5,720 for the charity with more donations still coming in online.

Guests including Deputy Lieutenant for County Antrim, Mrs Jacqui Dixon MBE DL; High Sheriff, Mrs Patricia Perry; Representatives from the RVH Liver Support Group; Elected Members and representatives from local businesses and organisations gathered at The Hilton, Templepatrick for the Mayor’s Black Tie Charity Ball.

Mayor of Antrim and Newtownabbey, Councillor Mark Cooper BEM commented, “I would like to extend my personal thanks to everyone who supported the event, helping raise almost £6,000 so far for this special charity. My family and I have experienced first-hand the exceptional service and support this charity provides and I am delighted that these much needed funds can go towards supporting their vital work.”

The RVH Liver Support Group is an independent Norther Ireland based registered charity with a network of volunteer liver patients and their carers who provide confidential, compassionate, emotional and psychological support for all adults, teenagers and children coping with any liver condition.
