Throughout the year, the firm organised a full calendar of activities to raise awareness and as much money as possible for the cause, including a sponsored 20-mile hike through the Mourne Mountains, relay teams in the Belfast City Marathon and a special Christmas film screening at Belfast’s Strand Cinema. The first official charity partnership formed by the firm, its fundraising target was smashed by £5,000.
Emma Rooney, Director with Millar McCall Wylie said: “Raising funds for Cancer Fund for Children has been an absolute privilege. Our team put so much energy into thinking of creative ways to fundraise and we have them to thank as well as our generous partners, clients, families and friends who kindly donated throughout the year.
“We are thrilled to have raised this money for such an important charity that helps children, young people and families impacted by cancer. This is the first year we have selected an official charity partner and we are encouraged that we can and will do more important fundraising work in 2024.”
Lisa Hartle, Partnership and Philanthropy Executive with Cancer Fund for Children added: “Millar McCall Wylie have been fantastic partners throughout 2023 and we are delighted to have received their donation of £12,500 – the result of hard work throughout the year by their staff and supporters.
“Every penny of these funds will be put towards achieving our goal of helping to ensure that no child has to face cancer alone. Thank you to Millar McCall Wylie – this type of corporate partnership is incredibly valuable in helping deliver our services in Northern Ireland.”
