Expressions of interest are being sought for a new grant scheme designed to promote vitality and vibrancy across the borough of Armagh City, Banbridge and Craigavon.
The Fit For Future Scheme, which is led by Armagh City, Banbridge and Craigavon Borough Council, sets out to offer grants of up to £20,000 to eligible individuals to help bring vacant borough properties back into use and support the area’s revitalisation.
Open to property owners and prospective tenants, the Scheme seeks to invest in commercial properties located across the borough’s villages, towns, and city, helping enhance their appearance, attract new tenants, and reduce long term vacancy.
Lord Mayor of Armagh City, Banbridge & Craigavon, Alderman Margaret Tinsley said:
“Reducing commercial vacancy remains a key priority for council and we recognise the quality of the borough’s properties is crucial to driving long term sustainable growth for the region. Through the Fit For Future Scheme, qualifying applicants will get funding to support internal and external frontage renovation projects, helping contribute to modern high-spec properties, enhanced streetscapes, increased occupancy and job creation within the borough.
“Expressions of interest for this Scheme will open on Monday 09 October and I would encourage all those eligible to get in touch with council directly to learn how this initiative can help breathe new life back into your property.”
To assist with queries, a phone clinic will take place on Tuesday 03 October from 9am to 5pm and can be accessed on 0330 056 1170.
Expressions of Interest will open on Monday 09 October and will close on Friday 17 November 2023 at 12noon.
