As part of the run up to these Christmas Festivities, Antrim and Newtownabbey Borough Council is inviting children aged 4-11 years to create their own Christmas Tree decorations using household recyclable products. Entries can be placed on our dedicated trees in the foyer of Antrim Civic Centre or Mossley Mill from 13-16 November. The Mayor will then judge a winning design from each of the Borough’s seven districts and these children will each receive a voucher for the Abbey Centre and get to join Santa in turning on the Christmas Lights at one of our Switch On Events.
Mayor of Antrim and Newtownabbey, Councillor Mark Cooper commented “I am thrilled to invite you to our Christmas Tree Light Switch On celebrations. Join us for a week of festive joy, community spirit and unforgettable memories. I encourage the children to unleash their creativity by crafting their own decorations using household recyclable products. Let’s come together to light up our Borough and add a touch of personal magic to our Christmas trees.”
