Belfast Met student Laura Black wins 2021 Peter Roberts Bursary award

Louise Warde Hunter, Principal and Chief Executive at Belfast Met, said: ”We would like to congratulate Laura on receiving this award due to her commitment, determination and hard work. This is an outstanding achievement, and we are very proud of Laura who has persevered with her studies during the last challenging eighteen months.”

Laura Black, HND Level 5 Business student at Belfast Met, confirmed: “I’m so pleased to have received this bursary which is an acknowledgment of how I have overcome adversity and a lot of challenges during my school and college years. I’m delighted to receive this help as I enter the final year of a degree in Business Management at the University of Ulster.

“I will be forever grateful to Belfast Met and my lecturer’s for guiding and supporting me as I progressed from level two through to HND level in the Business field.”

Ian Pretty, Chief Executive at Collab Group, said: “Congratulations to Laura and Oskar for winning this year’s award who have demonstrated great determination in the face of adversity and their stories are truly inspiring. The quality of applications this year was exceptionally high, so I want to thank everyone that applied and wish them great success for their future careers.”
