The 2024 Belfast Telegraph Top 100 Companies in partnership with Grant Thornton will be published in June, and we are calling on Northern Ireland-registered companies who may be eligible for inclusion to come forward. The eagerly-anticipated magazine is an annual guide to the 100 most profitable limited companies registered in Northern Ireland, with businesses ranked in order of pre-tax profits. For the second year, the table will be compiled by independent economist Maureen O’Reilly (pictured), a member of the Fiscal Council and expert of more than 25 years’ experience.
In recent years, the threshold for eligibility has crept up, with companies requiring pre-tax profits of £6m to qualify for last year’s Top 100. It is anticipated that the threshold for entry in this year’s Top 100 will sit at £6m or slightly above.
Belfast Telegraph business editor Margaret Canning said: “We are looking forward to the publication of the Top 100 Companies on June 11, and re delighted to partner with business advisory firm Grant Thornton.
“We are pleased to announce that independent economist Maureen O’Reilly will again compile the list and look forward to a magazine which reflects diverse success stories in the Northern Ireland business world.”
She added: “We would also like to hear from companies who have not featured on the list before but who may this year be eligible for inclusion.
“To qualify, a business must have a registered limited company entity in Northern Ireland, but can have an international owner.
“While the threshold for entry this year has not been confirmed, it is like to sit at £6m or slightly above.”
