Join us on Thursday 9 May from 12.00 – 1.30pm in The Blue Sky Room on the 1st Floor of One Elmwood to hear from Helen and Colm, Founder and CEO of Act + Acre, viral scalp care brand, about their career journeys and how their passion for cold-processed scalp care made Acre + Acre, the first Irish brand stocked in Sephora!

The event will begin at 12pm with a light lunch and refreshments before the conversation kicks off at 12.30pm with lots of opportunities to ask your burning questions.

Hosted by the Chief Executives’ Club at Queen’s and Students’ Union Enterprise team, this is an exceptional opportunity to hear directly from the creators of a global brand which has been featured in 100s of publications.

About our Speakers

Helen Reavey knows a thing or two about the link between scalp health and hair vitality. As a veteran of hairstylist Sam McKnight’s backstage team and with over 15 years as the go-to stylist for the world’s leading fashion brands, celebrities, and media outlets, Helen wanted to create a new playbook for hair wellness. Having worked worldwide from salon to runway, Helen noticed across the board an overwhelming commonality of poor scalp health. Her curiosity resulted in a realization that the industry was serving up a selection of sub-par products that do not serve to nourish, balance, and stimulate the scalp… enter Act+Acre!

Colm Mackin is the CEO of Act+Acre, which he co-founded with his wife, Helen Reavey. In his role, Colm oversees business and brand strategy, finance, and operations, with the goal of growing strategically, improving quality and customer experience and building brand equity. Prior to Act+Acre, Colm spent over a decade in law at PricewaterhouseCoopers and Morgan Stanley where he advised VC and private equity funds on M&A, corporate structuring, international tax strategy, and regulation. Working for the world’s largest and most prestigious professional service firms allowed Colm to gain invaluable experience in all aspects of business and advise a wide portfolio of clients in luxury retail, consumer, manufacturing, financial services, and tech.

Both Irish natives, Colm and Helen have lived in New York since 2013.
