Scaling for Growth with Bank of Ireland

NI Chamber’s next Scaling for Growth workshop will focus on finance; providing practical tools to understand and raise finance for 2021. Members are invited to join the online session on Thursday 12 November, which will be of particular interest to those working in senior management or finance roles in any sector.
Attendees at the event will hear from Trevor Brennan, Finance Director at W&G Baird, who will share how the printing company has successfully adjusted its business strategy and corresponding financial plan to meet the challenges of 2020. Jonny Forde, Associate Partner at EY will consider funding mix and practical planning tools while Bank of Ireland will provide the lender’s perspective.
Trevor Brennan, Finance Director at W&G Baird, a commercial printing company with 150 years’ experience in serving customers throughout the UK and Ireland, will share how the company has pivoted in 2020 and adapted its funding model when looking ahead to 2021.
Jonny Forde, Associate Partner at EY will provide insight into how best to identify, structure and monitor the correct funding mix for your business. This will include key financial assumptions to consider, the best way to present your financial requirements and practical tools you can use.
Bank of Ireland will provide an update on the bank’s current market experience, key parameters for funding, the different types of funding to consider and financial planning for 2021 from a lender’s perspective.
This is the opportunity for SMEs to access the experience of the company speakers, learn and connect with other businesses experiencing similar challenges and leave with practical takeaways for implementation within their own business.
Trevor Brennan, Finance Director, W&G Baird
Having previously worked through all aspects of the administration departments in the company, Trevor settled into accounts and has been the Finance Director for W&G Baird for over 20 years. Trevor was part of the original management buy-out team that took over the company in 2006 along with four other directors.
Jonny Forde, Associate Partner, Strategy and Transactions, EY
Leading EY’s corporate finance team in Northern Ireland, Jonny has over 20 years experience advising on acquisitions, disposals and debt & equity fund raises.
Based in Belfast, Jonny has advised on a broad range of local and cross border transactions spanning numerous sectors and industries including agri-food, financial services and manufacturing.
Mark Cunningham, Head of Small Business Northern Ireland, Bank of Ireland UK,
Mark has recently been appointed to lead the Bank of Ireland Small Business team across the Northern Ireland region. Prior to this he had responsibility as Regional Business Development Manager, Business Banking leading the Banks new business development activity in Northern Ireland region. During a 25 year career with Bank of Ireland, Mark has held senior roles in a number of areas across Business and Corporate banking, Credit and Retail. Mark has also held senior positions in a number of external businesses in the Hospitality, Property, Healthcare and Retail sectors.
