Booking Deadline: 2 March 2023

NI Chamber and its International Champions, Eversheds Sutherland and Queen’s University, invite companies currently involved in bidding for and delivering public sector contracts in ROI, wider Europe and internationally to a breakfast event on Wednesday 1 March.

Public sector procurement offers substantial opportunity for NI companies to supply goods and services across a range of industries. The all-island public procurement market alone is worth an estimated £13bn, presenting an easily accessible market to achieve growth and scale. However, companies have historically found this sector difficult to navigate citing the complexity, time commitment and cost of the procurement process as key barriers to entry. At this event, expert speakers will share practical advice on how to successfully navigate the public procurement process.

Key areas of focus will include:

  • How to find out about public sector opportunities
  • How tendering in the EU differs post-Brexit
  • Putting in place an effective strategy
  • Maximising your chances of winning
  • Pitfalls to avoid

Peter Curran, Partner and Head of Public Procurement at Eversheds Sutherland, has extensive experience of advising public and private sector organisations on the procurement of projects and contracts across various sectors. He has advised awarding authorities, funders and bidders on some of the most significant procurement exercises on the island of Ireland in recent years.

Áine Smith, Consultant at Eversheds Sutherland, advises clients on all aspects of the procurement process, from project inception and scoping, to selection and award stages through to contract award and standstill. She also advises on major infrastructure projects, including social housing and higher education facilities, as well as on IT procurements.

Who is this event for?
