NI Chamber invites you to a half-day interactive training course on Wednesday 1st December 2021 that will focus on Commodity Codes and will highlight the importance of identifying the correct code for your business and ensuring you are customs compliant.
Commodity Codes training is now accredited by the British Chamber of Commerce (BCC) and delegates can receive a certificate of attendance in recognition.

What are Commodity Codes and why are they so important in International Trade?
Identifying and using the correct Commodity Code is essential for establishing the accurate duty rate, origin of the product, reporting to Intrastat, export and import documentation and many additional customs procedures. The penalties for wrongly assigning a code to a product could be severe.

This half-day training course will provide delegates with:
• Understanding of what a Commodity Code is and the HS system
• How to successfully identify the correct code for your business
• How Commodity Codes are used in International Trade
• An introduction to the UK Trade Tariff
• GIR classification rules
• Legal obligations and penalties

This course is for any company that trades internationally, including new logistics staff who require formal training, longstanding staff who would like to update their knowledge and individuals involved in logistics, designated purchasing personnel, managers and directors.
