Women in Business is delighted to congratulate the 16 graduates from their Press Refresh programme who have undertaken a Data Analytics Programme, created in partnership with Belfast Met and funded by the Department of the Economy, to equip women with the skills and knowledge they need to pursue a career in the tech sector.

The Data Analytics Programme is a free, supportive and intensive 16-week training course, to give women who are currently undertaking a valuable caring role, on a career break, unemployed, not in paid work or working less than 16 hours a week, the opportunity to learn new skills, explore data analytics, build confidence and enter the tech sector.

Some of the modules and topics include learning about big data, using excel in data analytics, shaping your CV for a tech role, critical thinking, using Microsoft Power BI and how to plan and balance for success in your career.

This popular course initially received 100 applications and the graduates from the programme have gone on to secure interviews and roles with some of NI’s largest tech employers.

Commenting on the recent graduation from the latest Press Refresh Programme, Women in Business CEO Roseann Kelly said: “With the tech sector continuing to boom in Northern Ireland and so many talented women leading the charge, we’re delighted to accommodate such a positive and practical programme to inspire other females who seek a way into the industry. Helping women return to work is something we as an organisation are incredibly passionate about.

She continued: “These 16 graduates should be extremely proud of themselves for successfully completing the course, it is certainly no mean feat. As we welcome the second year of the Women in Tech Awards on 25th May, Women in Business are excited to celebrate local female tech talent with those women who have built careers in the sector. These leaders can provide encouragement, motivation and inspiration for those just starting out or those taking their first step in the tech sector.”
