Following the success of the Women in Renewables mentoring scheme earlier this year, it is now open for the September 2025 intake
Created by RenewableNI, women in renewable energy study at Belfast Met for a fully funded OCN Level 2 mentoring qualification while mentoring other women in the sector. The mentoring relationship with then continue after the course completes helping more women enter the renewable sector or advance their careers.
This programme will give you the skills and confidence needed to become a mentor.
Judith Rance, Head of Communications and Events at RenewableNI and creator of Women in Renewables said: “At the Women in Renewables events we asked what would help more women transition into the sector and those already in it to progress and mentorship was repeatedly mentioned.
“RenewableNI has created the Women in Renewables Mentoring qualification to empower women to become these much-needed mentors. Not only do those on the course gain a qualification and mentoring skills, the course is structured to give them confidence and ongoing support to develop themselves and their professional network.
“This includes looking at your own values, recognising your own successes and the practical steps of creating a mentoring relationship. The course includes a first in-person session allowing the group to get to know each other and hear from a motivational speaker.”
Judith continued: “The benefits for the mentees includes a role model within the renewable energy sector, who provides confidence and vital connections. The help setting and achieving career goals, helping discover your strengths and shape a career path that aligns with your values and ambitions.”
Intake for the next cohort is underway, with the first class on Thursday 25 September. Places on the course are open to women working in renewable energy related roles with a Northern Ireland address.
