Northern Ireland’s fastest growing electric vehicle (EV) infrastructure company, Weev has been ranked the number one most reliable Charge Point Operator in Northern Ireland.

In a recent survey carried out by Electric Vehicle Association Northern Ireland (EVANI), Weev surged to the top spot ahead of big-name competitors such as Tesla, BP Pulse, Ionity and ESB in their reliability. Receiving 27% of the overall vote, Weev sits almost 10% ahead of its next closest competitor, Tesla, reinforcing the public’s confidence in its growing charge point network.

With over 120 charge points currently across Northern Ireland and a growth plan for significantly more, Weev is rapidly growing its infrastructure to meet the demand for EV users and grow the network across Northern Ireland. According to EVANI, more than half (58.8%) of those surveyed acquired their electric vehicle in the last two years and 83.5% say they will likely or definitely buy another EV, demonstrating the continuous rise in popularity for electric vehicles and need for public charge points.

With more than 50% of all EV drivers using the public charging network at least once per month, the need for a reliable network of charging stations is more evident than ever with EVs becoming more mainstream and more-often used by those without private driveways or home charging facilities.

Thomas O’Hagan, Chief Commercial Officer of Weev said: “At Weev, we understand the huge importance on reliability of electric charge points. Our team’s mission is that our network remains available and accessible to EV drivers and so we are delighted to be voted number one on reliability in Northern Ireland in the recent EVANI survey, which is testament to the Weev team’s hard work and dedication.

“Confidence in the charging network is vital in propelling EV adoption in Northern Ireland to where it needs to be to meet upcoming government targets. For customers to know they can confidently stop at our charge points and have access to reliable charging is a number one priority for us in keeping customers on the road and growing the electric vehicle movement in Northern Ireland.”

Mark McCall, Chair of Electric Vehicle Association Northern Ireland said: “The annual EVANI survey gathers insights from electric vehicle owners across Northern Ireland, offering a valuable and unique snapshot of real-world experiences. With an increasing number of Charge Point Operators to choose from, this year we asked respondents to select the one they have found the most reliable.

“We are delighted to congratulate Weev for securing the top spot for 2024, a well-deserved recognition of their reliable service and outstanding customer support.”
