Business success or failure is dependent on many factors, but you are more likely to succeed: if you get the right people on the bus and keep them on board by cultivating a work environment where people feel supported and valued.

“93% of employers say their managers perform better after taking an ILM qualification – proof that providing tailored, flexible, vocational training works.”

We are launching two new ILM courses in 2025.

In March we will launch the next open ILM course in Effective Workplace Coaching and Mentoring. The course is delivered by Dorothy McKee and Paul Tracey who are both experienced coaches and mentors with in-depth knowledge of the tools, techniques and approaches to effective coaching and mentoring.

“A skilled coach or mentor is an invaluable asset to any organisation. Through participation on this course many individuals and organisations have enhanced performance and developed positive workplace cultures”. ILM 2024

The participants on this experiential course are supported to develop skills as professional coaches and or mentors. The skills developed are the same skills required for effective leadership, effective listening, questioning, and feedback. Learners also become more self-aware and adopt proactive approaches to their ongoing development.

“In the modern business landscape, coaching skills have become indispensable. They offer a powerful means to develop talent, enhance leadership capabilities and drive organisational success”. ILM September 2024

The following companies use coaching and mentoring as an integral approach to their talent management strategies: Marks and Spencer, Novartis, Sensata Inc. Ernst and Young, and KPMG.

The programme is delivered through five highly interactive in person workshops and three remote group coaching sessions. Specialised individual support and coaching is also provided to ensure the successful completion of the course.

The second programme new to 2025 is the specially designed ILM level 7 Qualification Leadership and Management

This course which will be launched later in 2025 is part of the new suite of courses launched by ILM to meet the needs for the development of strategic leadership competence.

This qualification is designed for senior / strategic leaders and managers seeking to sharpen their strategic leadership capability, enabling them to deliver successful outcomes for their organisation. It is suitable for leaders who want to make the best use of resources, develop commercially viable propositions, innovate, optimise performance and drive impact.

Individuals will be provided with scope and opportunity to focus on their own specific strategic leadership and senior management development needs. It is based on ILM’s in-depth experience of effective leadership and management development.

This course designed and delivered by Dorothy McKee and Paul Levy who provide challenge and support to those who wish to develop their leadership competence through experiencing novel and flexible approaches to learning. Dorothy is highly experienced and knowledgeable in the field of executive development and Paul specialises in digital leadership innovation and change, on this course a wide range approaches are used to development that is personalised to individuals and enables them to learn in a flexible way. The learners will have the opportunity to explore the latest thinking on leadership, the skills required to lead in a digitally complex and evolving workplace and how to develop high performance cultures.

The two programmes can either be delivered on an in-house basis and tailored to specific leadership requirements of each organisation or places provided on the open courses delivered in Belfast. There are three options on this programme the participants can either opt to achieve an Award, Certificate or Diploma at level 7. The costs for multiple places on the programmes are significantly discounted.
