Elaine Cassidy has been announced as Director of Price Controls by the Utility Regulator.
Appointed in October 2024, Elaine will have a significant leadership role, overseeing price controls across gas, electricity and water.
In this capacity, she will lead, advocate for and deliver on objectives relating to price controls within the Utility Regulator’s Corporate Strategy 2024-2029 and its Forward Work Plan.
Formerly the Utility Regulator’s Head of Legal Affairs, Elaine brings over 20 years’ legal, governance and regulatory experience, alongside a background in strategic and policy development, gained working across Northern Ireland’s Civil Service.
She holds an LLB degree in Law and Politics from Queen’s University Belfast, a diploma in American Business studies with Spanish from the University of Lindenwood, St Louis Missouri and a Legal Practice Postgraduate diploma from the University of Northumbria.
