Ulster Rugby has today launched its official Recast channel to bring supporters closer to the action through an extended digital content offering.

The channel is set to host behind-the-scenes action including game days at Kingspan Stadium, gym sessions, player training sessions, challenges, alongside exclusive interviews and live events.

The first event to be streamed live via the new platform will be the upcoming Bank of Ireland pre-season fixture at home to Exeter Chiefs for viewers outside the UK. Those in the UK can watch live on BBC 2 Northern Ireland and BBC iPlayer.

The away pre-season friendly against Glasgow Warriors at Scotstoun Stadium on Friday 9 September will be available live and exclusive via the platform.

The new channel aims to offer supporters an affordable platform to watch a mixture of live and on-demand video, which in-turn will allow the club to continue to invest in more live and exclusive content throughout the season.

Stuart Martin, Head of Marketing and Communications at Ulster Rugby, said:

“The launch of our Recast channel is an exciting development in our club’s digital output. It shows our innovative approach in how we produce content and share it with our fans across the province and beyond.

“We regularly receive feedback from supporters who want to see more content from across our various representative teams and live events, so this allows us to work closer together to bring fans more of the coverage they want.

“We’re delighted to be able to kickstart the channel by showing our pre-season friendly fixtures live on Recast and we hope that our supporters will enjoy the wide range of engaging content we have planned for the season ahead.”

Andy Meikle, Founder and CEO of Recast, added:

“We’re really delighted to welcome Ulster Rugby to Recast. Recast presents an incredible opportunity for rugby clubs across Ireland, the UK and beyond to unlock vital new digital revenue, whilst providing their fans with even more affordable access to the content they want, when they want it. It’s fantastic to see Ulster Rugby grasp that opportunity to innovate head on by joining the platform, and we look forward to plenty of new live and on-demand content from the club this season.”

Supporters can join Recast for free here – and will receive 100 free Cast Credits when they join. To earn extra Casts to watch content, fans can watch ads, share content, invite friends, or purchase Cast Credits, with one Cast Credit valued at 1p.
