The Utility Regulator has published its latest newsletter which provides an update on the organisation’s work during June.
This month, the Utility Regulator’s staff have attended and hosted industry events, contributed to panel discussions and engaged with the organisation’s key stakeholders.
On 5 June, the Utility Regulator co-hosted its seventh annual joint Energy Forum with the Energy Institute.
Energy leaders, policymakers, consumer bodies, academics and industry professionals were welcomed to the event to discuss ‘The future of energy in Northern Ireland 2030 and beyond’.
On 11 June, the Utility Regulator’s Chief Executive, John French, was pleased to attend and deliver a presentation to delegates at Energy Ireland’s 2025 conference at Croke Park, Dublin.
On 17 June, the organisation’s Head of Networks, Jillian Ferris, attended Ofcom’s ‘The Future of Connectivity’ conference in Belfast, taking part in a panel discussion.
Consumer Protection Manager, Graham Smith, attended the All-Ireland Sustainability Summit 2025 on 18 June. The event brought together key players involved in navigating the challenges and opportunities of the journey to net zero.
On 25 June, the Utility Regulator’s Head of Consumer and Business Protection, Sinéad Dynan, attended the Collaboration Network’s Vulnerability Summit 2025.
This month, the Utility Regulator was pleased to announce its partnership with numbers-first communications organisation, Plain Numbers.
It is hoped that the collaboration will ensure that the Utility Regulator’s communications are easily accessible to all Northern Ireland’s consumers of electricity, gas and water.
On 5 June, the organisation issued a Call for Information on future gas distribution and transmission price controls in Northern Ireland.
On 12 June, it published its latest Quarterly Retail Energy Market Monitoring report on NI’s retail energy market.
On the same date, the Utility Regulator published a consultation on a proposed electricity generation licence for Lagan Energy (Ballymena) Ltd.
The organisation published an Information Paper on its new combined monitoring and reporting framework for the Code of Practice on Customer Service and Code of Practice for Consumers in Vulnerable Circumstances on 18 June.
This month, the Utility Regulator launched its latest Domestic Consumer Insight Tracker Survey, which will help the organisation to understand the experiences of electricity and gas consumers across Northern Ireland.
In this edition of its monthly newsletter, the Utility Regulator is spotlighting the work of its Director of Consumer Protection and Enforcement, Barbara Cantley, and Associate Regulatory Analyst, Hannah McCurdy, both of whom were part of the team responsible for developing the survey.
