The Irish News has expanded its GAA offering with the launch of a weekly podcast, The Monday Club, adding a new audio and video platform to its long-established Gaelic games coverage.
Now five episodes in, the podcast brings informed debate and authoritative analysis to the sports stories shaping the season. Presented by Neil Loughran, it features members of The Irish News sports team examining the major talking points each week.
It is the same trusted journalism readers expect in print and online, delivered in a format that allows for deeper insight and discussion.
Gaelic games remain central to The Irish News’ editorial identity. In 2025, 1.42 million users read GAA coverage on irishnews.com, generating 5.2 million page views across more than 3,000 articles. The Monday Club builds on that audience, offering supporters another way to engage with expert coverage.
Editor-in-Chief Chris Sherrard said:
“Gaelic games have been at the heart of The Irish News for more than a century. As audience habits evolve, we must continue to evolve how we deliver our journalism.
“The Monday Club allows our sports team to bring their knowledge and personality to life each week.”
Sports Editor Paul McConville added:
“The early response has been very encouraging. The podcast gives us the space to explore the issues driving debate across the country and provide context beyond the headlines.”
Sponsored by Find Insurance NI, The Monday Club is available on Spotify, Apple and all major podcast platforms. Each episode is filmed in full for The Irish News YouTube channel. New episodes are released weekly and are available now to stream and watch.
