Tanya Hedley Appointed Chair of Sentinus

Tanya Hedley has been appointed Chair of Sentinus, the educational charity that works with more than 60,000 young people from schools and colleges across Northern Ireland each year, delivering programmes that promote engagement in STEM subjects and support the development of scientific and technological skills.

A board member at Sentinus for over 5 years, Tanya is the Director of Networks at the Northern Ireland Utility Regulator leading the team that regulates electricity, water and gas networks in Northern Ireland. She is also a Board Member of CASE (Centre for Advanced Sustainable Energy) based at Queens University Belfast.

With a degree in Electrical and Electronic Engineering, Tanya is a Chartered Engineer, a Fellow of the Institute of Engineering and Technology, a Member of the Institute of Directors and an Associated Member of the Institute of Environmental Management and Assessment. Prior to joining the Utility Regulator, she worked for over 19 years in NIE Networks including roles of Transmission Projects Manager and Environmental Manager.

She is also a part-time Senior Lecturer for South Eastern Regional College where she supports a woman’s mentoring programme.  In her spare time Tanya rows in the Skiffie Coastal Rowing class along with participating in other sporting interests.
