“As Chair of the All-Party Group for the Industry, I was pleased to meet with Michael Henderson, Chief Executive, and Kiera Campbell, Chairperson of the Northern Ireland Food To Go Association this morning.
We discussed the need for greater recognition of the sector and its immense contribution to the Northern Ireland economy. The Association represents a wide range of businesses, including coffee & deli shops, bakeries, food vendors, and takeaway outlets. With over 1,100 members, it has been actively lobbying for improved food hygiene and health training, enhanced skills development, and a fairer operating environment, particularly protections for tenants and measures against excessive third-party commissions.
The Association, along with its sponsors, also provides business planning support and access to financial assistance and training alongside many other services and benefits, With this combined backing, the Food to Go sector is well-positioned to continue growing and delivering diverse, high quality food offerings to meet evolving customer experience.”
