Samuel Lyttle, Curriculum Manager, School of Construction, Engineering Services and Skills for Work at SERC said, “We are delighted to be hosting the Northern Ireland Fire Industry Forum specialist training day in partnership with AICO, an acknowledged market leader in residential fire safety products including smoke and carbon monoxide detectors.”

“The morning session has been designed for students studying on a range of construction programmes, who will have the opportunity to participate in several training sessions including Core Module, Part 6 and an Alarm Challenge.   This gives students the opportunity to upskill to industry standards and consolidate learning from the classroom.

He added, “The afternoon session, from 12.30 – 4.00pm, is specifically for people working in the industry. They will have the opportunity to visit the AICO mobile unit and take part in sessions including Continued Professional Development (CPD) Core Module (Domestic Fire & CO Overview); Education, Training & Industry Support; Creating Safer Homes with IoT (Internet of Things); and Smart Technology Hub.

He concluded, “This is a great opportunity for anyone working in the industry to gain valuable CPD, network with people in the industry, share best practice and gain the latest insight for the industry.”
