Premium menswear brand Remus Uomo has announced the relocation of its Belfast store from Victoria Square to a new flagship retail space at Unit 2, 16–22 Arthur Street, representing an investment of more than £500k.
Spanning over 5,500 sq. ft. across two floors, the new store is almost double the size of its former Victoria Square unit and marks a significant milestone in the brand’s growth strategy. The store is scheduled to open in late September 2025.
The move sees Remus Uomo join one of Belfast’s most vibrant retail destinations, just around the corner from Corn Market and alongside recent additions such as Anthropologie, Charles Tyrwhitt and Marella. Further redevelopment is also underway on the street, positioning Arthur Street as a hub for premium lifestyle and fashion brands.
The Belfast flagship will sit alongside Remus Uomo’s standalone stores in Dublin and Glasgow, reinforcing the brand’s direct-to-consumer presence in key UK and Irish cities.
New roles and elevated customer experience All existing Victoria Square staff will transfer to the new store, alongside the creation of a new Retail Store Director role and up to two additional positions, reflecting the increased scale and ambition of the flagship.
The Arthur Street flagship will debut a re-imagined retail concept for the brand, blending Nordic-inspired design with industrial Belfast heritage. Natural wood tones, stainless and blackened steel, and a bespoke “Belfast Green” tile feature will create a refined yet welcoming environment, designed in collaboration with Mark Brown Studios, Easton Design Office (London) and shopfitters GEM Interiors.
Customers will benefit from new Connected Retail features, offering a seamless experience across online and offline channels, alongside personal wedding appointments and a café partnership with local favourite Kaffe O, encouraging shoppers to treat the space as a destination.
Strategic step for the brand Remus Uomo was established in 1991 as part of Belfast-based fashion house Douglas & Grahame (est. 1924). The brand has operated stores in Belfast for three decades, from its first CastleCourt location in 1995 to Victoria Square in 2007. The Arthur Street flagship represents the next chapter in its retail evolution.
Commenting on the move, Adam Finlay, Managing Director of Douglas & Grahame Ltd said:
“This is a real moment for the brand. Over the past seven years we have been laying the foundations to take Remus Uomo into the future. Delivering a re-imagined flagship experience in the brand’s home city is a major step forward – one that allows us to strengthen our community in Belfast, deliver a connected retail experience, and set the business up for further growth.”
Michael Finlay, Brand Director at Remus Uomo added:
“We had been looking for a larger space – and one with real character – to give us the scale and the environment to deliver the all-new, elevated flagship experience we are planning for our customers. Arthur Street offered the perfect setting to bring that vision to life, while keeping us at the heart of Belfast’s most exciting retail district.”
The Arthur Street flagship will act as the blueprint for Remus Uomo’s wider retail strategy, with plans to open further stores in strategic locations across Great Britain in the coming years.
