Niavac is proud to have delivered a landmark audio-visual installation at St Ronan’s College, setting a new benchmark in AV design for the education sector. As a new-build school, the project presented a rare opportunity to integrate AV infrastructure from the ground up, ensuring high-performance systems that directly support and enhance teaching and learning.
Working in close partnership with the school’s leadership team, we designed and installed a comprehensive AV package that combined large-scale presentation technology with flexible classroom solutions. Central to the project was the installation of a 7.2M wide LG LED Video Wall in the main hall, replacing legacy projection systems. Unlike traditional projectors, LED walls provide consistent brightness, flicker-free performance, and shadow-free visuals. This cutting-edge display now enables professional-grade performances and assemblies while creating a more inclusive environment for all learners.
Across the school, Niavac supplied and installed 125 Google-certified 75” Clevertouch Impact Lux displays with wall mounts. These intuitive, interactive touchscreens were selected for their reliability, low learning curve, and built-in digital signage functionality. The displays not only enable interactive lessons but also serve as part of the school’s communication strategy, providing visual schedules, prompts, and emergency messaging.
The ability to send updates to a single screen, a group, or all screens instantly meets the needs of School Emergency Response Strategies for major incidents including evacuation and lockdown.
The AV package extended beyond classrooms to specialist spaces, with tailored sound systems installed in the music rooms and a powerful PA solution for the main hall. Digital signage displays were also integrated throughout the school, offering a robust platform for information sharing while reducing staff workload and stress.
Commenting on the project, Ciaran Conlon, General Manager for Niavac said, “After being appointed, Niavac worked closely with St Ronan’s Principal, Fiona Kane, together with her Music Teacher to redesign the AV sound systems in the main hall and music rooms. The result was a state-of-the-art AV solution.”
The installation, completed on schedule thanks to our experienced project management and engineering teams. Collaboration with the school and main contractor Nugent ensured a smooth process from design through to completion. Ciarán says “It was a pleasure to work with the Project Manager for Nugent, Neil Carlisle, on this project. From initial discussions, right through to delivery on site, everything went smoothly, and we look forward to working with Nugent again in the future.”
With over 60 years of experience and a long-standing reputation in education, Niavac continues to pioneer innovative AV solutions that transform teaching environments. The St Ronan’s College project reflects our expertise, commitment to inclusivity, and belief in technology’s power to enhance learning for every student.
