Calling all thrill-seekers! There’s still time to sign up for AWARE NI’s Viking Race and make waves in the fight against mental health issues. Join us on Saturday, 24 June, at Cutters Wharf for an adrenaline-fueled adventure that combines teamwork, competition, and the opportunity to raise funds for a cause that truly matters. With registration closing on Friday, 9 June, don’t miss this final opportunity to be a part of something extraordinary.

Stacey Todd, an enthusiastic member of the crew ‘Blood Vessel,’ shared their thoughts on why fundraising for AWARE NI is so essential. Stacey emphasised, “We all thought it was a worthwhile cause. We all know someone or have dealt with mental issues ourselves.”

Charities like AWARE NI play a crucial role in supporting individuals currently living with mental illness. Stacey added, “Any awareness raised is a positive. By increasing understanding and encouraging open conversations, charities like AWARE NI can catalyse change in the battle against mental health challenges“.

This exciting event provides an opportunity to make a tangible impact while enjoying a day filled with camaraderie and competition.

Having already raised over £1,300 for the event, their fundraising endeavours have also sparked meaningful conversations, creating a safe space for people to open up about their struggles and seek support. Stacey noted, “We’ve found more people have become more open about their mental health since fundraising for AWARE NI. Most people have experienced mental health issues at some point, and with these last few years, it’s never been more important to talk.”

But we can’t do it alone. Natasha MacKay, Corporate Partnership Officer from AWARE NI, explains why your support is crucial. “We’re asking each team of 10 to raise a minimum of £1,000. These funds will directly support our vital support groups and mental well-being programmes that provide invaluable assistance to individuals and families affected by mental health issues across NI. We need your support to continue making a difference at AWARE NI.”

Don’t miss this incredible opportunity to paddle with purpose, unleash your inner warrior, and make a difference in the lives of individuals across NI.

Together, we can paddle towards a brighter future and break down the barriers surrounding mental illness.
