The first-ever Beyond School Fair at Mossley Mill on Tuesday 3 March was a great success, bringing together young people with disabilities, their families, schools and support organisations to explore opportunities beyond school. The event was also visited by Deputy Mayor, Councillor Julie Gilmour, who met with exhibitors and attendees during the day.
Delivered by the Antrim and Newtownabbey Labour Market Partnership, the event welcomed 266 attendees who had the chance to learn more about accessible pathways including further education, training, employment and independent living support.
A total of 22 organisations exhibited including All About Us – ASD Teens, King’s Trust, Northern Regional College, Northern Health and Social Care Trust and Next Step Transitions, showcasing the wide range of support available to help young people plan their next steps. By connecting students, parents and providers under one roof, the event helped break down barriers and create a positive, empowering experience for young people preparing for life beyond school.
