Employers from across Northern Ireland came together for a unique Intelligence Challenge, designed to give businesses a closer look at the skills, training and experience developed through Reserve service.

Hosted by 54 Military Intelligence Company, the event brought together employers from a range of sectors for a series of practical intelligence-based activities, teamwork challenges and problem-solving tasks.

The day formed part of Defence Relationship Management’s wider employer engagement programme in Northern Ireland, helping organisations better understand the contribution Reservists can make to the workplace and the importance of supporting employees who serve.

Participants had the opportunity to work alongside others from different industries, hear directly from Reservists and experience some of the skills developed through military training, including communication, analysis, teamwork, decision-making and problem-solving.

The event also gave employers the chance to network with one another and with Defence representatives, while gaining a better understanding of how Reserve service can complement civilian employment.

Events such as the Intelligence Challenge are an important part of building stronger relationships between Defence and employers. They provide a practical way for organisations to understand the value Reservists bring to the workplace, while also opening conversations around appropriate HR policies, support for training commitments and the wider benefits of the Armed Forces Covenant.

Could your organisation benefit from a closer relationship with Defence? Defence Relationship Management works with employers across Northern Ireland to provide advice, engagement opportunities and support around Reservists and the Armed Forces Covenant.
