We’re proud to have contributed to the newly updated Access for All guide – a practical and inspiring resource designed to help make sport and outdoor spaces more inclusive for disabled people.

The guide has been refreshed with new ideas and insights to support local activity providers, especially those working in community venues, green spaces and blue spaces like lakes and beaches. It is full of simple, low-cost ways to improve accessibility, from adding clear signage and creating rest areas, to adapting equipment so more people can take part.

At The Wave Project, we have spent years learning how to make the beach and the sea a welcoming place for everyone, particularly young people with disabilities. We were pleased to share our knowledge and experiences as part of this update, helping others to feel more confident in creating inclusive, supportive environments.

We believe surfing is for everyone. That belief underpins our Adaptive Surfing programmes, which offers tailored support so that everyone can experience the freedom, confidence and joy that comes from catching a wave.

Whether you’re a coach, volunteer, event organiser or simply someone who wants to make your space more welcoming, Access for All is a great place to start.
