Learning Never Stops for Dr Harper

Dr Ben Harper (41) from Belfast, is currently completing the Chartered Manager Institute (CMI) Level 7 in Leadership with SERC.

 

Ben, who is currently employed as a civil servant, followed his A Levels with a degree, master’s and doctorate, the latter at The University of Liverpool. He said, “I had attended an online open evening at SERC and was impressed at the range of courses and the flexibility that online training offered.  I was also impressed by the skills and experience of the lecturers and their connections with industry.

 

Speaking about the CMI Level 7 in Leadership, Ben said, “I really enjoyed the online format of the lectures.  The lecturer was very prepared for each session, ensuring that the training was engaging and informative.  I liked how the sessions provided structured learning but also opportunities to network with other professionals.”

 

He added “I was able to apply the learning from the programme from day one. The CMI programme, led by Jenny McConnell an experienced leader and trainer, made what could be quite a ‘dry’ programme, interactive, educational, and inspiring.  I feel that the training has enabled me to become a much better leader.

Concluding, Ben said, “The SERC experience far surpassed my expectations.  SERC is about real training for real-life job roles.   It’s about preparing students for employability with training delivered by industry experts. I would completely recommend SERC to anyone considering a higher level professional qualification.”
