15th May 2025

Oars at the ready, mark your diaries and gather your colleagues to enter our Corporate Dragon Boat Race at the River Lagan on Friday 6th June 2025. We would be absolutely delighted to welcome you to this fabulous corporate bonding day out. Do your colleagues have what it takes to be crowned Dragon Boat Race Champions?!

Each boat requires 12-18 people to compete in two timed trials, with the fastest teams going on to battle in the Grand Final to become corporate champions of the Lagan. While not on the water, there will be a DJ providing entertainment, delicious food to help you re-fuel, props for team photos and of course lots of fun ways to win other awards on the day!

And remember, no previous experience is necessary as each team will be guided by a qualified instructor who will helm the Dragon Boat. All you will need is a great team spirit!

Every day, another 37 people are told that they have cancer right here in Northern Ireland. With 1 in 2 of us here likely to be diagnosed with cancer in our lifetime, your continued support is needed more than ever.

This year, Cancer Focus NI is embarking on a new era of cancer care in Northern Ireland as we develop a brand-new Therapeutic Cancer Support Centre, set to open in May 2025 on Enniskillen High Street. This centre will provide essential support and resources to individuals and families, in Fermanagh and the surrounding areas, facing the challenges of cancer, making a direct impact on their lives.

What is a Cancer Focus Northern Ireland Therapeutic Support Centre? At its core, Cancer Focus Northern Ireland’s future strategy is to create spaces and environments that radiate a sense of sanctuary and welcome. We envisage places of community that those on a cancer journey feel drawn towards and are not intimidated by. Our Support Centres will be strategically placed across Northern Ireland. They will provide flexibility in how people engage, from being able to drop-in and have a coffee with a cancer specialist to availing of more tailored, structured individual or group therapeutic support. Most importantly, we want people to experience and have access to a place of social connection and to have the opportunity to participate in and be part of a community where they feel comfortable and understood.

We would be so grateful for the opportunity to work with your team as your support will not only help us positively impact the lives of local people facing cancer but also demonstrate your commitment to community health and wellbeing.

What’s next?

Sign up your boat today: £600 per boat which covers seamless event management, support staff and all health and safety equipment needed on the day.
Round up your paddlers: each boat requires 12-18 paddlers (no experience required!)
Suggested fundraising target: we would encourage each team to fundraise £1500 to allow us to continue delivering cancer support services and fund local research right here in Northern Ireland.

All aboard and ready for the challenge? Sign your team up today and make a splash for Cancer Focus NI. We can’t wait to see you there.
