A glittering array of sporting talent was on parade in Belfast at the weekend for the annual Local Women Sports awards.
The ceremony marked the achievements of international athletes, alongside the feats of grassroots local sportswomen. Over 600 nominations were received and judged by an independent panel and we are delighted to share that GLL’s Head of Service, Jacqui Pope, was awarded Most Inspirational Sports Woman of the Year. Jacqui is a former competitor at the Commonwealth Powerlifting Championships, has represented her county internationally.
In her leadership role in GLL, Jacqui has created inclusive wellness programmes and fosters community well-being.
Later this month, Jacqui will join other female trailblazers in sport and business at Impact Players, a leadership conference for women in sport, where she will join the likes of Gabby Logan and Olympic swimmer Danielle Hill to share her leadership story.
