Belfast based Software Consultancy company Hypership has released BidSonar, a free to use contracts and grants platform – giving Northern Ireland businesses one place to find public sector funding opportunities.
BidSonar aggregates notices from official procurement and funding sources – including Contracts Finder, Find a Tender, TED (the EU’s tenders database), Innovate UK and UKRI – into a single searchable directory. It now indexes more than 80,000 live and historic contracts and grants, and profiles over 75,000 buyer and supplier organisations.
The platform goes beyond simply listing opportunities. It reads the competitive field behind each one: who currently holds the work, whether a contract is a genuinely open competition or effectively held by an incumbent, and which established suppliers a smaller firm might approach as a teaming partner. Values are shown faithfully, and where a figure is not disclosed the platform says so rather than guessing – the emphasis throughout is on giving businesses an honest read on whether an opportunity is realistically worth pursuing.
Alongside contracts, BidSonar surfaces grant funding from 9 different funding bodies, so earlier-stage and innovation-led companies see relevant funding calls in the same feed as tenders.
Kyle Davidson, co-founder of Hypership, said: “We’ve been using BidSonar as an internal tool to help surface opportunities for our clients. It has found real work for us, so we’ve made it free for everyone, and you don’t even need an account to browse.”
