Hypership delivers AI-native transformation for smart-energy firm Joulen

Hypership has completed a six-week engagement with Joulen, the Belfast smart-energy software company, helping embed AI-native ways of working across its engineering and product teams.
The programme began with a discovery workshop involving Joulen’s executive team, followed by six weeks embedded on-site. Hypership ran structured, hands-on sessions with every engineering team, building AI practice directly around Joulen’s own codebase and workflows rather than generic training. A shared context repository – covering enterprise context, coding conventions and curated skills – was built during the engagement and now belongs to Joulen, who continue to extend it in-house.
Adoption was tracked throughout, with 100% of Joulen’s engineers using AI daily by the end of week six. Engineers now run multiple coding agents in parallel using spec-driven development, with each session drawing on shared context built up across the team – so the benefits compound rather than reset with each new task.
