Have Your Say on the Future of Good Relations in Antrim and Newtownabbey

Antrim and Newtownabbey Borough Council is developing a new five-year Good Relations Strategy and is calling on local community groups, organisations and residents to get involved.

A series of focus group sessions will take place across the Borough’s District Electoral Areas (DEAs) between 25 August and 4 September 2025, giving residents, groups, and organisations the chance to share their experiences and priorities for the next Good Relations Strategy.

Mayor of Antrim and Newtownabbey, Councillor Leah Kirkpatrick encouraged participation saying, “Good Relations are at the heart of building a stronger, more inclusive Borough. We want to hear directly from the people who live and work here about what is working well, what challenges exist, and what priorities should guide us into the future. Your voice matters in shaping a Good Relations strategy that truly reflects our communities.”

Discussion themes will include:

  • Examples of successful good relations initiatives
  • Challenges or barriers to good relations
  • Priorities for the next Good Relations Strategy.

All contributions will remain anonymous, and data will be handled in line with data protection legislation.
