Great Careers Start at SRC with Data Analytics Assured Skills Academy!

Attendees at SRC’s recent Data Analytics Assured Skills Academy have successfully completed an 8-week academy exploring sought after industry qualifications. Training ranged from Project Management, Python, Software Fundamentals, Software Testing, introduction to Cloud Technologies, RDBMS/SQL and Excel.
SRC partnered with FD Technologies to offer Academy attendees first hand insight into the world of FinTech. Attendees spoke with and got acquainted with FD Technologies staff, plus there was the added bonus of a guaranteed job interview with FD Technologies on completion of the Academy.
Assured Skills Academies are a great way of gaining pre-employment training and boosting C.V.s with relevant skills. Funded by DfE, the College was delighted to provide applicants with the opportunity to skill up in career enhancing training and qualifications.
Attendees recognised the value of training provided as many travelled a distance, from Downpatrick to Enniskillen and Armagh to engage with lecturers at SRC’s Greenbank campus in Newry. This location proved convenient as many cited the accessible location of the campus easily accessible via public transport.
Attendees wholeheartedly reported the Academy has helped with progression in their desired career path. The range of intense short courses has provided Attendees with the necessary foundation for working in the FinTech area.
For anyone thinking of upskilling or retraining with SRC, these words of advice from one Attendee might help: “Go for it, even if you think you aren’t capable, most of the time you will be proven wrong.”
