GMcG Chartered Accountants is proud to announce Cancer Focus Northern Ireland as its 2026 charity partner.
For over 50 years Cancer Focus NI has positively impacted the lives of local people affected by cancer and helped create a healthier society. With the majority of its work funded through donations and fundraising, the charity aims to embed its services into communities across Northern Ireland, seeking to meet the needs of local cancer patients in the towns and cities where they live.
GMcG’s decision to partner with Cancer Focus NI was the result of a voting and selection process across firm’s Belfast, Lisburn and Portadown offices. This approach is adopted by the firm each year to ensure the charity partner is always the choice of employees.
The highlight of the partnership will see GMcG’s seven directors locked up inside Crumlin Road Gaol to take on the Cancer Focus NI Jailbreak Challenge in September, raising vital funds for local cancer services. The Jailbreak Challenge will see GMcG’s seven directors don the famous striped prison uniform, get straight to prison work and raise funds for their bail, all in aid of Cancer Focus Northern Ireland.
Directors Susan Dunlop, Gabriel Greene, Lyn Canning Hagan, Nigel Moore, Stephen Houston, Gill Johnston and Paul Black will be hoping to use all their guile, contacts and supporters to raise vital funds for Cancer Focus NI to secure their release for good behaviour.
Employees from all three GMcG offices have a fantastic track record of organising and participating in a wide range of fundraising activities for the firm’s charity partners every year. Amy Walker and Adrian Green from GMcG’s Social Committee had the pleasure of meeting Eoin Caughey and members of the charity’s fundraising team to launch the partnership and learn more about the valuable work of Cancer Focus NI.
Adrian Green explained more about the partnership:
“We are very happy to be able to announce that GMcG has partnered with Cancer Focus NI for 2026. It is such an important charity for supporting local people on their cancer journey and we are really looking forward to working with Cancer Focus NI’s fundraising team to support the work of the charity during the year.
Our GMcG teams have never been short of creativity or generosity when it comes to organising activities that the whole firm can get behind. We are currently finalising a calendar of activities for all our offices and are really excited about delivering a range of fundraising initiatives in support of Cancer Focus NI”.
Eoin Caughey, Corporate Fundraising Officer at Cancer Focus NI, added:
“We’re delighted to be partnering with GMcG Chartered Accountants for 2026. Their willingness to put their leadership team to the ultimate test, with the Jailbreak Challenge, shows real commitment from the entire team. Support from businesses like GMcG Accountants is crucial in helping us continue delivering services to individuals and families affected by cancer right across Northern Ireland.”
