The Northern Ireland Social Enterprise Awards 2024 honoured GLL as one of the region’s most impactful social enterprises. The charitable social enterprise operates 16 public leisure facilities in Belfast in partnership with Belfast City Council.
Over 600 attendees on the night, including elected representatives who spoke incredibly highly of the work GLL are doing across the city. GLL in Belfast was shortlisted in 3 categories:

The night featured a diverse array of winners across 18 categories. Notably, GLL was awarded “Highly Commended” in the ‘Social Enterprise of the Year’ Over £500k category.
Economy Minister Conor Murphy said: “I’m a great believer in the power of social enterprise. These awards recognise and celebrate the transformative impact of social enterprise, and I congratulate all the award winners, and everyone involved. I want to continue to build the strength of social enterprises here which is why my Department is working with people from the sector to co-design an action plan for the future.”
