Gateley announces new hire for Belfast office

Gateley has announced the appointment of Jonathan Jackson as a legal director to its Belfast office.

Jonathan previously worked for a local commercial firm in Belfast where he was a director heading up the litigation team.

His remit at Gateley is to build the reputation management, commercial litigation and dispute resolution side of the business alongside other members of the team in Belfast, which will also involve working with teams from Gateley offices from across the UK.

A Northern Ireland native, Jonathan studied law at Queen’s University Belfast before undertaking his legal training at the Institute of Professional Legal Studies, also in Belfast. His extensive experience includes dispute resolution across a range of sectors including; banking and financial, land and property contractual, intellectual property and business ownership. Jonathan also has a particular interest and specialism in reputation management, defamation and privacy law and is qualified to practise throughout Northern Ireland, the Republic of Ireland, and England and Wales.

Commenting on his appointment, Jonathan said: “This is a very exciting time to be joining Gateley.  They are very well known and respected both within the Northern Ireland region and nationally with a great ambition to move the business forward.  It is exciting to be joining a liked-minded, dynamic group of such talented and experienced individuals and I am looking forward to working with everyone, particularly in extending our offering to local clients here in Belfast.”

Outside of work, Jonathan enjoys spending time with his family, playing tennis and travel.

The Belfast office of Gateley is located on Donegall Square East. It is home to 26 legal and professional services team members, all of whom are dual qualified and can practise law and advise clients in England, Wales and Northern Ireland.
