GMcG Chartered Accountants has proudly announced Cancer Focus Northern Ireland as its official charity partner for 2026. The highlight of the partnership will see GMcG’s seven directors locked up inside Crumlin Road Gaol to take on the Cancer Focus NI Jailbreak Challenge, raising vital funds for local cancer services. Funds raised will help ensure that the 1 in 2 people likely to face a cancer diagnosis in Northern Ireland can access support at every stage of their journey.
The Jailbreak Challenge will see GMcG’s seven directors don the famous striped prison uniform, get straight to prison work and raise funds for their bail, all in aid of Cancer Focus Northern Ireland. The senior leadership team will be hoping to use all their guile, contacts and supporters to raise vital funds for Cancer Focus NI to secure their release for good behaviour.
Adrian Green, Marketing & Business Development Manager at GMcG Chartered Accountants, said:
“We are delighted that GMcG Chartered Accountants has partnered with Cancer Focus NI for 2026. The selection of the charity was the outcome of a voting process across all three GMcG offices. It is such an important charity for supporting local people on their cancer journey and we are really looking forward to working with Cancer Focus NI’s fundraising team to support the work of the charity during the year.
Our GMcG teams have never been short of creativity or generosity when it comes to organising activities that the whole firm can get behind. We are currently finalising a calendar of activities for all our offices and are really excited about delivering a range of fundraising initiatives in support of Cancer Focus NI”
Beyond the Jailbreak Challenge, GMcG plans to support Cancer Focus NI through a range of fundraising and awareness activities over the year. Cancer Focus NI’s health promotion team will host a series of events for staff reinforcing the importance of early detection, health promotion and access to support.
Eoin Caughey, Corporate Fundraising Officer at Cancer Focus NI, beamed:
“We’re delighted to be partnering with GMcG Chartered Accountants for 2026. Their willingness to put their leadership team to the ultimate test, with the Jailbreak Challenge, shows real commitment from the entire team. Support from businesses like GMcG Accountants is crucial in helping us continue delivering services to individuals and families affected by cancer right across Northern Ireland.”
As part of its ongoing strategic direction, Cancer Focus NI is developing a network of Therapeutic Support Centres across Northern Ireland, with the first centre now open in Enniskillen and further locations planned. Corporate partnerships will play a key role in helping bring this vision to life.
