The Millennium Forum recently launched a brand new project that focusses on improving mental health through engagement with the Arts. The Artscoach project, funded by Arts & Business NI in partnership with Aircoach, is a multi-generational and cross community initiative that sees participants of all ages take part in various classes and workshops around the town with an aim to promoting good mental health and wellbeing.  There’s dance/hip-hop classes for young people at Bishop Street Community Centre, painting at the Cathedral Youth Club and drama/singing for older participants at the Gasyard Centre.    The project will culminate in a special showcase of each group’s work in an exclusive coach trip which will bring invited guests on a journey to each venue on Wednesday 21st May.

Cara McCartney, Development & Creative Engagement Manager of the Millennium Forum, said:

“Artscoach is all about using creativity as a tool to support people’s mental health. It’s been fantastic to see different generations coming together in shared spaces, learning new skills, and connecting through the arts. We’re really grateful to Arts & Business NI and Aircoach for backing this project – their support is helping us reach further into the community and supports Aircoach’s own business objectives around meaningful local engagement. The Millennium Forum has a strong track record of working with business partners to create real impact, and this project is another example of how sponsorship can help us make the arts – and our theatre – more accessible to everyone.”

Brona Whittaker, Head of Arts at Arts & Business NI added:

“At Arts & Business NI, we believe in the power of partnership — that when the worlds of business and the arts come together, they spark innovation, connection and positive change. We’re proud to support this brilliant collaboration between our members, Millennium Forum and Aircoach; a partnership that uses the arts as a magic ingredient to meaningfully connect with people of all ages and across communities. Through creativity, music, and movement, the Artscoach project brings joy, builds confidence, and provides tools to support mental wellbeing. A huge well done to everyone involved!”

Emily Dover, Marketing Executive, Aircoach, also commented:

“At Aircoach, we’re passionate about connecting people, not just through travel, but through meaningful community initiatives. Supporting the Artscoach project has been a brilliant opportunity to give back in a way that aligns with our values. It’s great to see how the arts can bring people together, support mental wellbeing, and create lasting connections across generations. We’re proud to partner with the Millennium Forum and Arts & Business NI on such a positive and impactful project.”
