There are so many amazing charities and community groups in Carrickfergus, but few more worthy of support than The Cithrah Foundation. Located at the DeCourcy Centre, Cithrah is just a short walk from the fonaCAB Mahoods Depot on North Street.

Cithrah is a nonprofit organisation that offers invaluable support such as confidential counselling, advice on domestic abuse, and benefits guidance in their well-equipped premises. They also offer a safe shelter at their refuge for women and their families who have become homeless due to abusive situations.

fonaCAB were made aware of the amazing work that Cithrah do for the Carrickfergus Community, and after meeting some of their team, it was an easy decision to offer a donation to help support their activities.

Commenting on the donation, fonaCAB CEO William McCausland said

“It’s heartening to know that there are organisations like Cithrah with such capable staff and volunteers who are there to support those in need at the most difficult of times. We’re honoured to be able to assist the work that they do and to help shine a light on their services for those who may need them most”

Cithrah Operations Manager Anna McAllister said

‘We are so grateful to fonaCAB for their generous donation at a time when funding is difficult for charities like us.

Working together we are making a real difference for the community, and we wish fonaCAB every success as they settle into the Carrickfergus area.’
