Eversheds Sutherland Property Team wins Property Legal Team of the Year

The Eversheds Sutherland NI Property Team has been named 2024 Property Legal Team of the Year at the Belfast Telegraph Property Awards.

The award, sponsored by Radius Housing, marked a successful 2024 for the Eversheds Sutherland Property Team, in which they were involved in over £1 billion worth of real estate transactions.

It has been a standout year for the Belfast-based property team, having been involved in a number of the largest real estate transactions that took place in Northern Ireland, including the largest standalone real estate financial transaction and one of the largest investment disposals of the year.

Highlights for the Eversheds Sutherland NI Property Team in 2023 included:

  • £100 million financing of Belfast International Airport;
  • Acquisition of new HQ offices in Belfast for two retail banks;
  • £40 million sale of Abbey Retail Park for an Institutional Property Fund;
  • £100 million+ worth of design and build development projects for Choice Housing Ireland;
  • Schroders Greencoat acquisition of the largest ever UK Solar Farm Portfolio (£700 million transaction with 513.5MWP across Northern Ireland, England and Wales);
  • Microsoft’s acquisition of their new European Cyber Security HQ in Belfast City Quays;
  • Martin Property Group on the hotel development of the iconic Scottish Mutual Building and the magnificent Ross’s Court building beside Victoria Square;
  • Lettings to Sports Direct, Hotel Chocolat and NEXT at Boucher Retail Park; and
  • Advising UAE Property Fund, Saqr Capital on the acquisition of two investment properties one being home to Capita plc and the other to leading energy company Fibrus.
