Danske Bank Lend Over £450 Million to Business Customers in 2013

Danske Bank in Northern Ireland made a pre-tax profit of £11.4 million in 2013, the company has said. That compares to a loss of more than £58 million in 2012. This is the first time the bank has made an annual profit since the start of the financial crisis in 2008. Danske made a profit of just over £1 million in 2008 but made a loss in every subsequent year until 2013.
Business Banking continues to go from strength to strength. In 2013 even more good trading businesses moved to Smart Business Show exhibitors Danske Bank, with the level of new customer acquisition amongst the highest levels seen in recent years. 2013 was also a record year for lending with over £450 million in new and increased lending provided to business customers, a figure that represents an increase of fifty per cent year on year and of which almost half was to ‘new to bank’ customers.
